Exbury Gardens

Exbury Gardens

A couple of months ago I entered a competition for the chance to test drive Citroën C4 Cactus for the weekend and a few weeks ago I unexpectedly received an email from them saying that I’d won! There was only one weekend date available and before I know it, I was driving Aneurin and myself to New Forest.

We didn’t have much time to plan our trip but we luckily managed to book a lovely converted barn (called Harbour Lights, we really recommend it) in New Milton that I think was probably the only available accommodation in New Forest! Affordable ones anyway.

We did a research on places to visit only the day before we left and we didn’t cover all of them due to being inevitably disorganised and getting lost few times (at one point, sat nav actually took us to Southampton instead of the place we wanted to go!). Despite this, we did visit places we wanted to see the most and had a wonderful time.

One of places we visited was Exbury Gardens near Beaulieu. It was a heaven for me! We were armed with cameras and snapped every flower we saw. The favourite part of our visit was finding a beautiful lake near Japanese Bridge and being greeted by many fish, obviously wanting food.

I will be sharing more about our New Forest trip in the next few posts. Have you been there and where did you go?

If you enjoy my illustrations, please consider supporting what I do!

I was pretty shocked that I won! So pleased as I got a chance to get away to somewhere else completely different for a weekend :)

Cool, I was wondering when we would hear more about test driving the Cactus! I remember seeing it on your instagram not too long ago. What a wonderful place to visit. Looks like you two had a great time :)

Couldn’t believe I won! I entered the competition thinking I probably wouldn’t win but I did. So worth it :)
